Beast War II: Super Lifeform Transformers é uma série baseada em Beast Wars totalmente produzida no Japão.

Exibida de 1 de abril de 1998 até 20 de janeiro de 1999, a série ocupou o vácuo deixado após a primeira temporada americana de Beast Wars.

A grande diferença é Beast Wars II foi toda produzida em animação tradicional, ou seja, nenhuma computação gráfica foi empregada na série.

A história da série se passa em outro planeta (ou universo paralelo), chamado Gaea e mostra a (eterna) luta entre os Cybertrons (Maximals/Autobots) e os Destrons (Predacons/Decepticons) para proteger ou capturar a misteriosa energia do planeta, chamada Angolmois.

Com exceção dos líderes de cada facção, todos os robôs são remoldados ou repinturas dos brinquedos americanos. Optimus se tornou um Leão, enquanto Megatron se torna um tanque perfuratriz ou dragão mecânico.
